Partial Birth Abortion

This procedure is used from 16 weeks through the end of the pregnancy. The abortionis uses ultrasound to locate the unborn baby's legs and uses forceps to pull the legs through the birth canal, delivering the baby's feet, legs, and body while the head is still in the mother. Scissors are then used to puncture the base of the back of the baby's head and a suction device is inserted to suction out the baby's brain so the skull will easily collaps. The dead baby is then completely removed.

Prenatal testing does have its valid uses and applications, but the temptation to misuse it is a serious one, so the decision to carry out such testing must be made very carefully, and within in a limited set of circumstances.

The Washington Post published a lengthy article on how Nebraska’s law prohibiting almost all abortions after 20 weeks is based on the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the federal ban on partial-birth abortion.  The article cites anonymous abortion advocates as saying that a court challenge to the law will likely come when another state passes it.

Prayer For Life

PRAYER FOR LIFE Lord God, thank you for creating human life in your image. Thank you for my life and the lives of those I love. Thank you for teaching us through Scripture the value you place on life. Help me to uphold the sanctity of life in my church and community. Give me the strength to stand up to those forces
that seek to destroy the lives of those most vulnerable,
the unborn, the infirm and the elderly. Today I commit myself never to be silent, never to be passive, never to be forgetful of respecting life. I commit myself to protecting and defending the sacredness of life
according to Your will, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.   Anglicans for Life 405 Frederick Avenue Sewickley, PA  15143
