This study gives some insight into when and how teens are having sex.
According to the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health
- 17% of 7th and 8th graders report having had sexual intercourse.
- Among adolescents in high school, the figure is almost three times as high, 49.3%
- 53% of teens day they have had oral sex, although 40% do not define oral sex along as being ‘sex’
- 67% of virgins expect sex to be romantic; only 29% of non virgins describe sex as romantic
