Do you ever feel like you are the only person in your church or neighborhood that cares about life issues? Here at Anglicans for Life, we hear that comment regularly and wanted to create a special section on our website where you can find encouragement and be equipped to make a difference for life locally.
There are many topics under the heading of life issues that we are passionate about; for example when you talk about abortion you can zoom in on: post-abortion, partial birth abortion, RU-486, men & abortion, effects of abortion on society, the legality of abortion, the moral problems associated with abortion, etc.,
The challenge becomes how we can address them all! It’s similar to trying to tear down a concrete block wall with your bare hands. You can’t tackle the whole wall at once, but you can focus on one block at a time and if you have other people also working on the wall, block by block; the wall will eventually be removed.
That’s why we always suggest you start with identifying what specific issue/sub-topic do you feel God is calling you to address. Then once you zero in on it, you work to learn all you can about it and create goals inspired by Scripture and 3 simple words; ministry, education and action.
Example – My passion is post-abortion, helping women and men involved in abortion find healing. So I spent 2 years reading every book published on that topic, met and ministered to many, prayed and sought God’s guidance then co-founded the Silent No More Awareness Campaign. I narrowed the bull’s-eye to something manageable and I didn’t feel overwhelmed or intimidated.
Pick your topic then pick your verb (educate, activate, minister) to guide the development of your plans for life!
This special Excel Spreadsheet Sanctity of Life Ideas spreadsheet has 76 different tasks that you can choose to do for Life! We are sharing it as a spreadsheet so you can sort it according to the topic category or activity type to make it easier to find ideas to do.
