The 2013 March for Life in Washington, DC, marked the 40th anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision AND the first time Anglican bishops joined the March!
Our nation and much of the world appears determined to cheapen the gift of human life that Almighty God has given us. From the most vulnerable in the womb, to the aged and incapacitated in our communities, society is under pressure to treat human life as a commodity to be disposed of whenever the circumstances demand action. At the recent March for Life in Washington, D.C. many thousands of Christians from all religious backgrounds gathered to praise Almighty God for His precious gift of life. I was inspired by this display of peaceful Christ-centered action calling for life to be treasured and for our nation to protect human life and honor the Creator. Let us pray that the Living God would move the hearts of all people to respect life, especially the unborn in the womb.
Having participated in the March for Life in Washington DC in years’ past, I am definitely encouraged to witness the extraordinary number of young people who participate. Let us continue to pray that the rising generations are coming to understand what is at stake and are committed to standing boldly for life.
As we acknowledge the 40th remembrance of the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize abortion across our land, we do so with much deep prayer for those facing crisis pregnancies and end of life decisions this very day.
